Just got laid off from PwC after nearly four years. This was my first job out of school and I'm actually not upset. PwC has treated me EXCEPTIONALLY well, and I see a lot of upside from here.

My background is in data analytics, process/performance improvement primarily within tax, accounting and business use case development, but I really want to find a new opportunity within analytical finance, transformation or bus dev/strat.

If you know of an opportunity, I'd love the chance to network!

Sorry to hear about the lay-off. Don’t have any leads, but just want to commend you on your incredible positivity! You gots this! 🙃

likesmart

Also sorry to hear about your lay-off and can't help but if I could I would hire you solely on your ability to reasonably respond to adversity.

Keep your chin up, you'll be just fine!

Yep, like the guy’s have said you have a great attitude and you’ll come out on top. Good you learned this early in your career. Companies have no loyalty to people. You may feel like the people above you are loyal to you, but at the end of the day it may not be in their power to keep you no matter how much they want to. Everyone has to fend for themselves.

Keep your skills up, and that great attitude. You’ll be fine. Sounds like you have a great background.

Take the time to get some certs if you can or round out your skills/knowledge and reflect that experience on your resume. Things will turn out for the best. ✊🏻

Sorry to hear OP.Keep the high spirits..your attitude is commendable and wish you good luck in the next role where ever. Better to keep away from consulting for a while 😬😬

Please help! I’m a CRC who manages Investigator- led clinical research projects and I want to transition to a PM role in industry (I would slightly prefer not a PM role in clinical trials since I don’t have clinical trial experience.) I’ve applied to PM roles at many biotech companies (e.g. Charles River, ICON, Paraxel) but only got 1 interview which didn’t work out. Which companies should I look to for an entry level PM role? Any good startups to consider? Anyone have any insight or advice?

I have two questions. I have 10 years of experience in multiple sectors and I have been trying to gain a leadership position. I am attempting my PHR this summer but what are some tips in order for me to obtain a leadership position? Also, how long does it take to obtain another position out of state? I am trying to move to Houston but I don’t want to move until I am confident I can obtain a position in the city before packing up and leaving.

I would like some advice here. I currently work as an HRBP for a large company and have been with this company for over 2 years. The current company culture is not great, and I’ve been looking for outside opportunities.
I was offered a role at a smaller company that just announced it is being acquired by a large company, however they agreed that they will be operating independently.
Would it be incredibly stupid to start a new HR job at a company currently going through an acquisition?

For all the business/data analysts out there, do you ever feel like your job is draining you? Like it doesn't really make a difference, the work is really ambiguous or you never feel like you're doing a good enough job? I don't know if it would be different at another company, but I seriously don't understand why so many people are trying to break into this field. Maybe it just isn't for me.

Was laid off in Sept. Unfortunately we will be seeing many more coming. It's what happens in a recession. Unfortunately I now also have my age against me. Not in a mentally good place at the moment.

Does where you get your masters degree matter?
