OP, you should look at it differently. Consider yourself lucky because there is a lot of competition among Asians to come to the US, so you should definitely be grateful. 12 years for. GC is shitty though, but that's a consequence of having too many people trying under the current legislation.

Diversity by country? There are 60% white non hispanic caucasians in the workforce. If you want diversity why not limit immigration from europe for example. What if I told you current admin passed a law where non muslim countries have to wait 5 months for green card while muslim countries have to wait 10 years. Everyone would call that racism---right
The existing laws for quotas per country were written 20 years ago. The mindset then was suspectfully archaic, racist and unfair.
French people don't contribute to our economy nearly as much as Indian people do, tbh. So much of our tech sector would crumble without Indian immigrants, not to mention the fact that since they're some of the most highly educated immigrant groups, they tend to have more earning (and spending) potential across the board
Quotas exist for a reason. I am immigrant myself and this has nothing to do with racism or discrimination. It sucks that your process took time but if anyone is really to blame, it's all your peers. Past, current and future ones. Can't be all you can eat, otherwise it will be all taken by the most represented countries like yours, China, etc. Be humble.

Deloitte guy is probably not the same nationality as you, and might have a point if you're Indian or Chinese (I'm Indian). All other nationalities can get a gc within 6 months to a year.
Could've just said your colleague/ friend etc but way to drag in the firm out of spite 🤷♂️
