I don’t know what CBS stands for but yes. PwC has IFS (internal firm services) which July 1 will be called Business Services I think

At KPMG it’s called Business Process Group (BPG). Everything from HR, internal accounting, marketing, risk management, etc etc etc.

CBS is core business services - HR, IT support, finance, and secretaries.

No, the other firms just use client service teams to do A/P and A/R. Generally have to do a 6 month rotation before getting promoted to director. You also have to audit expense reports, which should be pretty easy going forward.
It’s a great opportunity if you want to go to industry at some point.

I know you’re asking about big 4 but BDO has BSO and I remember I thought it was a typo for the longest time before I found out it was actually a ~thing.
Less focus on utilization/revenue generation, yes. Lower salary/bonus, definitely. Less overtime, no. I have exceeded client facing OT every year.
Why do you stay then?
Deloitte has enabling areas (finance, talent, cos, marketing, etc)- basically all back office support. Salaries are lower, overtime is generally less or at least consistent. Promotion path is different and terminates at MD
