I’m waiting for parents to step and be parents. It’s unfortunate that, once again, the educational system is being made to enforce what should have been an expectation at home.
When will the surgeon general speak out against screen time in general? That is probably doing even more damage to brain development.
While I believe it's well-intentioned, I don't see it doing anything in the real world. I think anyone with common sense knows that kids can get pretty warped thanks to social media. But a warning label won't accomplish much.
I had a student a couple of years ago who would come to school telling people that she was diagnosed with different syndromes or disorders. At first, we all were like so sympathetic and concerned. Finally, one of her friends ratted her out that she was getting her symptoms from somebody she was following on social media.

I think it is about time! We need parents who are clueless to step up and step in. Unfortunately this message will only be seen by those who are already involved.
I agree with this. I definitely think we should have been talking about this long before now. And I agree that everything mentioned here is true. It really is affecting kids and their mental health.
