Just started a new role in a midsize firm in litigation. Took the position to transition and step out of a small firm after applying and interviewing for a year. Now I am realizing that the firm does a lot of insurance work, among defending other corporate clients. The firm has a privacy practice, but I’m not working on that team. My direct partners are great, want me to grow and find what I’m interested in. (Continued in comments)

Do I stick it out and slowly build a relationship with the privacy team? Or did I shoot myself in the foot by taking this position instead of holding out for a privacy role? My experience in practicing privacy law is limited, but I have written on the topic and had a speaking engagement recently.

You're there now. Take the opportunity to learn and dive into privacy work as much as you can. You might be able to switch teams or get enough experience to go somewhere else.

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. I have got the ey hr mail stating i should provide him with aadhar card, information sheet and latest resume for a audit and assurance contract for 6 months as iam a semi qualified CA.

Here my question is should i take this opportunity. Cause since this is only for 6 months. After that, what i can do, where should I try to get the job?

In mid size firms, people won't pay as much as big 4 pays.

Should I take it or am I making a mistake by taking this.
