Just tore out what I thought was a young Asian holly based on the size above ground. Turns out it had already grown thick, several foot long thick roots that thankfully cake out easily. Very visual reminder of the importance of weeding early.

As a bonus, put down some wildflower seed in the disturbed soil so I'll hopefully have some coreopsis, Indian blanket, and partridge pea growing soon, followed by some native perennials that need a frost to grow next year.

Cavatappi in Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce

Tired of of the same old boring tomato marinara sauce? Try a roasted red pepper cream sauce!

Red bell peppers are roasted in the oven until sweet. It is then blended with caramelized onions, garlic, red pepper flakes, sun dried tomato paste, and cream into a silky, smooth and velvety sauce. Finish the sauce with a knob of butter and coat your pasta. Cavatappi works well here. Don’t forget to shave a little Pecorino Romano
