Only kids at mine were my flower girls and ring bearer. Some people got mad and didn't go, but it's not your job to accommodate them. It's your day.
Immediate family yes, no to everyone else’s
Kids were not allowed at the reception
Didn’t care about the ceremony
No kids at ceremony or reception!
I think there’s a lot that depends. Are these close friends or cousins you haven’t spoken to in years?
Personally, I had a no kids wedding, but I wish I had made exceptions for babies (under 1 year). I had friends who declined coming to our wedding because they had infants, and in retrospect I would’ve much preferred my friends be there. Plus, babies can’t walk so they’re glued to their parents, they’re super cute in tiny formal wear, and they’re in bed well before things get crazy.
Rising Star
kids until like 8:30/9 and then have a sitter on site to take them elsewhere. but also only limited to family and close friends kids not just everyone
Pro
No kids at the reception.
Immediate family only
Only my niece, nephew and the groom's nieces who will be in my bridal party. If a very close friend has a child before the wedding, I'd consider them but would expect guests to arrange childcare on their own.
No kids at the reception
Pro
No kids at the reception. But not sure what we will do if relative "shows up" with one, probably highschool age okay.
