Kinda random: I listened to The Daily episode “The Complicated Future of Student Loans” and they mentioned how starting in October if you pay your student loans, they’ll have no interest accruing. I had never heard this and haven’t been able to Google or read anything further about it. Wondering if anyone else knows about this?

I think I heard something in Instagram about it. But it was more of a “hope it happens” type thing. So, it would be like a grace period similar to finishing or stopping your school progression. But the best part there would be that 0% interest rate.

I think the grace period will be there. But I don’t think the 0% option will be there.

Plus it is a presidential election year - so who knows what they are going to try to add this as an agenda item for that election.

And short version... Almost all student loan borrowers will have to start payments again in October.

Hi All. What is the best way to allocate 25 Lakh INR in savings into different investments to maximize returns. I recently moved out of India so Tax rebate is not a consideration for me. I already have 6 lakh plus invested in PF and MFs but I want to invest more as my money is getting depreciated in the savings bank account.

I also have an education loan with balance of 7 lakhs which I am planning to repay in lumpsum as there is no tax exemption now.

I recently bought my 1st home in TX. I want to get into real estate and eventually own/rent out multiple homes. Are there any good recommendations/tips on books/articles/websites that others have used to get started?

I've read about HELOC and cash out refinance to get a 2nd home but articles are so scattered that it gets confusing which is better in terms of tax benefits and immediate costs, etc. Anything others have found helpful that summarized how to get started would be great!

How far do you require depts be with negotiating commercial contract terms before your legal review? I’m talking routine low value and risk contracts (e.g., vendor services), where Legal terms won’t kill the deal. My clients blindly forward contracts.
