I have been reading a few articles talking about how FAANG isn’t as lavish as it used to be. My first question is if that is true? If it is true, my second question is what companies out there have the pay, benefits, and perks like FAANG? My last question is if it is as difficult to get into those companies? OP avoid CEB. If you're going to leave Booz Allen go anywhere else.
Bonus isn't guaranteed so I would consider it a bad move
The outside world doesn't understand the EA role, so your future marketability may suffer. It's fun though
What does CEB even do???
CEB ( now Gartner) is not consulting, so if you want to get out of the industry, go for it, but don't take it under the guise of "consulting"
CEB is a research firm, might be a step up depending on what you are doing at Booz, but it's not management consulting
Lead Associate is pretty much the zenith of most people's career at Booz Allen.
Your industry prospects will suffer hard. Not worth it.
D4 got it right. But yeah stay away from CEB.
Sc1, lead associate in Booz Allen is a manager in Deloitte
Op, I hear you. It was absolutely depressing for me to see my former Booz Allen colleagues reaching up to become directors and VPs at other firms while I was still stuck at a lead associate level for years. Leaving Booz was the best decision I made for my self respect and sanity.
^samething happened to a good friend of mine when we were there. He and I left and he will be up for PPD at D in the next few years. That kind of growth would've taken forever at booz
Thanks D4, you at D federal now?
@D2 - interesting...they were definitely pitching their consulting bonafides in the IT, Finance, and Human Capital spaces pretty hard. I didn't get the impression they do a lot of strategy work, but it doesn't seem like many firms outside of MBB consistently do these days
Their new office looks pretty sweet though
If it's not strategy, and it's not implementation, how much consulting would you say they do?
D4, which is why I caught a case of wandering eye to begin with. It's pretty depressing to realize my BAH career has probably already peaked at 30.
What is lead associate laterally at a big4?
Yep
D4 did you have the option to look at commercial or were you set as a federal person by that point?
