Did anyone keep their HDHP through the birth of their child? Any regrets not going to the traditional PPO?

Working at a hospital with a million programs and services. When is developing an independent brand for a group justified, and when should it remain part of the parent brand?

At a tech company with less than 50 people and $6 M Revenue. Our current maternity and paternity leave policy is not good for attracting talent. 12 weeks for mom only 4 weeks paid and no time off for dads. Curious to know what policy other companies have, and can you let me know size and approx rev of company?

So here is my dilemma:
- based in the UK
- opportunity for lateral internal move (culture&engagement) or stay where I am (reward). I am mid level IC struggling to progress due to flat structure so considering lateral move then hopefully up from there.
- 2 primary aged children, currently have flexibility in current/new role too
- Husband just got accepted on a international rotation which means I will be single parent for the short term.

What to do? Go with the unknown or coast comfortably?

Last week I had to explain to my child what “politics” (as in office politics) is. My child is going to a new high school and wants to play volleyball. There was a 3 day open “tryout” for incoming freshman for 2 teams. After the first day, she noticed that
1) there were obvious favorites (coaches are not even hiding that fact);
2) some can’t even play and got on the team,
3) some that can obviously play but did not get on the team;
4) decision were obviously made before the first day was over.

I, a childless woman who does not plan to have kids, am jealous of the parental leave parents get to take from work from choosing to have a child (a big life event). I 100% understand that they are working in a different way by taking care of the baby and being deliriously worn out in the process, but it makes me sort of jealous that unless I have a kid there is no life event that I can take ~3 months away from work to focus on and enjoy, plus have my hours prorated and a job to come back to.

I have accepted an offer.

My “future boss” will go on maternity leave within 30 days of me joining the new company.

How can I make it easier for myself and worthwhile for my boss to trust me while she is gone?

Any tips will be highly appreciated.

This week, I received a letter in the mail from a Catholic church in SC. So apparently my ex is trying to get our marriage annulled. We have been divorced for 20 years now. The letter said they wanted to ask me general questions about our marriage. I really don't want to talk to anybody about my past relationship with my ex. The letter said they could issue a subpoena to make me comply. Not sure why she is doing this? She remarried and had a child. So not sure what she has to gain by this? Cont.

I’m in FDD… I know I signed up for this but there’s something about the anxiety that comes on a Friday knowing that we still didn’t get access to VDR .. and how that anxiety grows as you enter the long weekend knowing that access can happen at any minute (or not) and you have to tippy-toe on the idea of potentially cancelling on your memorial weekend plans. I know the unpredictability of our job but phew 😮‍💨

I struggle with perfectionism and anxiety and this job seems to not help. How can I learn to be less of a perfectionist in a job that highly rewards this kind of behavior?

My mood has been fluctuating so much lately. Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.
