I recently joined a firm doing general lit. The position was marketed as a match to my skill set. I’m doing nothing related my strengths and I’m languishing intellectually and professionally. In 12 months I’ve gone from loving law to wanting to quit the law altogether. I don’t have a book at all because my network consists of broke millennials and the pandemic makes it hard. Marketing told me the areas I want to practice aren’t big money makers. How can I find a better match?

How have other people dealt with being the only woman on their team? I’m currently the only female on a team of 18 engineers. I’m treated as an equal and I love my team. It’s literally just that I’m the only woman and I find it kind of hard to relate to some of my coworkers. I’ve already talked to my manager about hiring more women (discussed this when the only other woman left the team for a team that was more balanced) but we can’t just put out an ad saying “women please apply”, y’know?
Thoughts on this offer: Amazon AWS L6 Sr. Engagement Mgr Proserv $291k TC Atlanta Area. I have 20 YOE/MBA.
I applied for a L7 Principal Eng. mgr role and provided $350k-$450k TC range. Was offered the L6 Sr. Engagement Mgr role $29k K TC.
- Base $190k, $90k Y1, $68k Y2, 80 RSU
RSU valued at $222k based on $2.5k (30day avg + 15% YOY growth) - actual value $2.1k today.
Any advice on negotiation? Interviewer says max $200k Base/$300k TC Atlanta area. Is $225k base/$350k TC feasible?

Hi Everyone, Started my career in government 5 years ago working in an operational role, then focussed on HR for 3 years working my way up to a middle manager role in HR as a business partner and completed my Level 7 CIPD. I don’t think HR or government is for me anymore and looking to find something new, now 24 feel I have a lot of transferable skills and knowledge but worried about private companies in other professions taking me seriously. Grateful for any advice - thanks in advance!

I’m waiting for my background check as I accepted an offer for Remote Licensed Insurance Customer Service Rep. While I’m a 1099 for my current role, I still haven’t told them I am leaving for a full time role that can change my life. It’s a small agency, and I’ve gotten close with the director. She’s the employment reference I gave; I’m a nervous that when they receive the call to verify employment, my days will be difficult. I’d hate to be let go before I start with LM. Thoughts? Anyone know of any places hiring in Anchorage, AK that won't completly write me off as a potentional canidate due to a background check? I've been in customer service/retail sales for 20+ years now in many different industries and I'm great at it. Unfortunately my one mistake I made while helping in-laws and supporting my family is biting me in the ass. Seems like every job I'm a perfect fit for says no once they go on CourtView without letting me even explain why I have what's there.

Howdy Sales Fishes - I’ve got an interview coming up and the recruiter prepared me by sharing that the interviewer may be low energy intentionally. Does any have a best practice for tactfully responding to this behavior or should I just persevere?
I was interviewed for a major tech player in the hospitality industry, had 2 interviews which for the first one the recruiter was late, and didn't confirm the interview while I emaild her to make sure I do have an interview. When she attended she said that there was no point of responding my email as we are meeting anyway. Later on I had 2nd interview with the hiring manager. After 45 minutes she said they will let me know...
2 months later and I am still waiting...

Who is looking for a new sales opportunity?
I have openings on our sales team. High intensity environment, startup culture. Great for someone looking to build new skill sets or recent grad looking to move into sales. Holding brief 10 minute calls to go over more details. $60K base, full benefits, uncapped commission. Must be NY based. Comment if you’d like a DM to discuss more
I’m going to be making an exit soon to a company that’s working hard to recruit me in. I’m in an AE position. I’d be forfeiting $18k in RSUs vesting, President’s club, and $200k+ in pipeline if I do move. I’m inclined to leave because this would be a step up in a role and I really like the team.
My question is: is it reasonable to ask for a $40k sign on bonus to account for what I’m leaving here? How do you go about negotiating that?
Hello, I am getting interviews for the tech roles but unable to clear the final rounds. Any suggestions? Mostly, I apply for BDR roles only
