Looking for some advise from you wise people. I stay in a small town which is dominated by one industry - one which doesn’t interest me at all. All my audit clients are in this space, were I to leave I’d also be joining them. There is no “pull” factor to leaving my current job. However, I feel like there is a “push” factor as I’m not enjoying my current role as audit manager, partly down to demanding clients and an unmanageable amount of work to get through. Anyone else been in this position?

How do you deal with an HR that ghosts you after 3 interviews that went really well? I landed an offer at Deloitte as a sr. consultant, and then negotiated for a managerial role. I was told all interviewers were really happy with me so she would be glad to arrange a reevaluation for the new role(I was interviewed by 2 Sr. Managers & an MD for Sr. Consultant role and will have to take another round with a partner for the managerial position). I tried following up thrice after, no response.

Misled on Maternity Leave Policy. I found out I only get 4 weeks pay for maternity leave (STD +“sick days”). I will take 12 weeks but wont get paid for 8 weeks. I work for a US, west coast based company in the tech/VC industry. Their website claims to offer “paid parental leave and other progressive benefits for parents”. I didn’t find out until after I was hired their pay was only 8 weeks but since I have been at the company less than 12 months, I don’t qualify for their policy. Is this unfair?
