PwC has provisionally cleared me to join the firm first week of Jan. What does this mean? Can I start working with them even if the background check is still running in parallel? Sounds like you'll be highly leveraged. Perhaps too highly. I'd want an assessment of risk before tapping into that equity (or draining emergency fund).
If you do decide to move forward, you'd include the cost of debt (assuming you're accessing through a HELOC) into your ROI calculation to make sure it still meets your investing criteria.
That could work, depends on your equity on the first home and price of the 2nd home. I would have a mortgage broker calculate what your DSCR (Debt Service Coverage Ratio) will be with an equity loan vs cash-out refi mortgage on the first property.
