Looking to lateral from consulting into an industry role, mostly for better WLB. How do I ensure a company’s WLB is as advertised when interviewing for a role? For context, I don’t expect a 9-5 every day, but after 3 years of 60+ hour weeks I’m looking to put 50+ hour weeks behind me. Looking at a few small companies, so reaching out to current / former employees and reading reviews online isn’t a viable option, but feel slightly awkward pushing too hard on this question during interviews

I just got laid off from my job as a gov contractor because the project I was working on ended. I’m currently a grad student part time and was hoping to work that job until finishing grad school before applying to consulting roles.
