Man say what you want but software engineer roles are brutal. For the money, one trades in a lot in exchange only to benefit the corporate owners times 100 and get nothing in return. Getting in is a pain, competition is fierce, labor market saturated, anyone can pick your skills and replace you, college degree does not matter, constant fear of layoffs, probably worse if you have a family in a HCOL city. Horrible bosses, crappy team mates and don’t even get me started on pull request hazing.

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA?
