May not be correct bowl but my brother is home for holidays and my gosh this kid is so weird. Here’s the back story he always has a opinion no matter what you say and he fights with everyone (parents me grandparents) and he just talks in a very I’m smarter than you attitude and imo he seems very toxic. I know he doesn’t have many friends so I feel bad so I try being nice to him since he is my brother but man it’s hard cause he is so toxic. He just always raises his voice and is so undermining.

To add to this for example I have been trying to watch my carbs and I had one cream puff and he starts attacking me saying why are you doing that when that has carbs. So I just said cause I want to and for him to worry about himself and I’ll worry about myself. Then he responds saying fine I’ll never worry about you in my life and I’m just like okay whatever. Like I try to be nice and be his friend but my gosh he is so hard to be around. He is my older brother.

My SO will put me on the spot sometimes (he is an extrovert) and say just talk to me (it will just be us two). He generally talks a lot and me so much. The second he says that my mind goes blank and for the life of me I can't remember anything to talk about. It's like stage fright. Is this normal? Anyone else experience this?

A relative is raising a teenage son with her ex-husband. They have joint physical custody. The ex-husband has re-married. When the son is in his care, he often leaves the son at home in California with his (new) wife when he travels for work (which is often). The relative wants her ex-husband to leave their son in her care when he travels out of town but the ex-husband disagrees. The relative wants to know her chances of prevailing if she were to appear in court on this issue. Thoughts? Thanks!

What do you do when you feel the goalpost has been/is being moved re: billable requirements? Like there's a spoken vs unspoken? I chose this job based on billables vs salary and what I'm being told I'm expected to do now is 20-30% (at least) > than what was initially agreed upon. Given my other life responsibilities, this is creating a huge strain & I feel like this is slowly getting harder & harder on my spouse & kids. I'm grateful to have lots of good work but not sure how to course correct.

I was reading a post in another group that asked how folks were celebrating Diwali outside of India and 2 people mentioned that their whole street (in the US) exchanged sweets, put up lights, and pitched in for a community firecrackers permit. This had me wondering if this happened in the US for Eid as well in cites where there is a big Muslim population. Also, how do you all celebrate Eid? For folks who are grew up in the west, is there anything you plan on doing differently with your kids?

I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

Hi there. 25 and living at home. Have enough saved up for a house but I’m in between possibly moving to a whole new place. I have never left home and the whole idea is daunting. Advice?

Does being at home make anyone else want to get hit by a bus?

I feel like I can’t tell my mother anything without her using it against me, & just can’t be myself. I’ve been living at home for 2 years and at least pre-pandemic I could go to work and have a personality but now that I’m working from home, I’m constantly acting and pretending.

Cant vent to friends w/our my parents accusing me of being disloyal, can’t talk in a work meeting w/out being criticized, can’t do anything right.
