McKinsey & Company Hey folks!
Was wondering what sort of life sciences projects does usually the Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Company take on?
Commercial, access and pricing, M&A, transformation, implementation? (all of them perhaps?)
Basically, what would someone with an LS background be mainly working on in these firms on a day-to-day basis?
Thanks!

It’s the role BAs who went to get an MBA come back to the Firm as
It’s a title in certain regions. I know it’s unsurprisingly used by the ones with the largest hierarchy of titles, ze Germans, where you can be, just in your tenure as a BA (and I’m sure someone will jump in to rectify me for not explaining ze rules correctly);
Junior Fellow (for pre master students)
Fellow (BAs with a masters degree)
Fellow Associate (a promotion)
Fellow Senior Associate (another promotion, can go on leave which can include doctorate and complementary monocle)
After leave the returing Herr/Frau Doktor Fellow Senior Associate, MBA starts as a Sr Associate and skips a year in the three year development trajectory expected of German Associates.
In my office we just use “associate” for EH/DTA/post leave consultants and just adapt expectations based on expected trajectory.
All London BAs are designated to Senior Associate once they complete/receive their fellowship to recognise that additional 2 years of McK training vs a new Experienced Hire or post-MBA Associate colleague.
So if they leave for an MBA or secondment they’d return as Senior Associate yes - but that’s not the sole criteria
The next step for both Associates and Senior Associates is Engagement Manager.
European/ intl thing only
Adding on to what M3 said, Senior Associate is equivalent to the second year of the Associate programme so you can progress to EM quicker
