No advice to give but congrats on McKinsey and the baby! Just don’t name the baby McKinsey, that’s a little much.
The firm has moved to a 100% in-network plan coverage. Pretty awesome benefit to have. You will spend no more than $500, if there are any uncovered expenses (source:colleague who had a baby recently). Paternity leave is 2 months!
And don’t worry, McK doesn’t implant the nanites until they’re sure the baby is healthy
Not sure what the cost would be with the new 100% coverage, but even on the old one my c-section for my twins cost us about $60. So the health care coverage is tops. If you aren’t the one giving birth then I don’t think you guys get the ancillary benefits like breast pumps and an extra $300 for qualifying expenses. But I’m not sure. And yes, paternity leave is 8 weeks and depending on the circumstances more (I think men can also qualify for special birth leave in certain circumstances)
Wow! Thanks, all, for the guidance, first-hand experience and well wishes!
...length of hospital stay we’re able to get, and any ancillary benefits such as doulas that the firm will help with? Thanks!
Also as context (in case it is relevant): My wife and I live in Charlotte, and this would be our first child.
