Mid level associate at AmLaw 50 firm. I’ve been incredibly burned out for the last four months but my hours aren’t “the worst” in the group (i.e. I bill around 185 a month to client work and then 30 per month to other time). I’m in really bad shape with my mental health (e.g., daily anxiety attacks) and it has been affecting my work significantly. Taking mental health leave is the only way I see myself remaining at the firm. Is taking the leave detrimental to my career track and marketability?

The thing I struggle with the most on a project is being able to quickly understand the business process of the clients across different industries. Any tips or resources I can use to improve that?

What are some good practices during the sales phase of a potential project to execute before the contract is signed? Seems obvious but would love some ideas on standard operating procedures that help with seamlessly handing over a signed contract to the account team. For example, speaking to the potential client explicitly about their role in staying on schedule, reviewing scope creep consequences, etc.

Have any of you taken "low bono" clients while working at a firm? I want to take on a low bono client or two but not sure who would get the money. This is a contract opportunity through a non profit so I'm assuming a 1099 will be issued. The per hour rate is significantly less than my billable rate.
