I am currently pursuing a position to be a 401k workplace planning consultant with Fidelity Investments. I would like to connect with someone who has gone through that training and early hiring process to make sure I have a solid understanding of the position. This is specifically for the Raleigh/Durham NC area if possible.

Well, it may be an urban legend- but if you call the EAP and report mental anguish from workplace bullying you can’t ever get fired. That’s about the only reason I would use a workplace mental health benefit. Our benefits department works for the man, not for me - no way I trust my headspace with an employer sponsored benefit. But if it can keep them from firing me, I have them on speed dial.
Not sure about the “can’t ever get fired part”. I hope HIPAA rules apply to those conversations, and nothing is shared with the employer.
They have it but it’s hard to access and we can’t be sure that they’re not monitoring our use of it as well. The benefit doesn’t go far you get about one/two free sessions with a therapist and with a place like my job you need at least 6 months of support because that place has become the source of our mental health issues. Between pay being 15 an hour for most positions outside of management, most federal holidays are now gone that we used to get, we get personal holidays now where we can choose to have a fed holiday or other holiday off but you have to fight like you’re in the hunger games to get them and the staff meetings are the worst because the CEO just sits there quoting billionaires and telling us how much money the company’s taking in while offering no holiday bonus, we get a $15 Amazon gift card only during employee appreciation week…we need more than one session with the EAP people.
