I joined KPMG around 3 months ago but I am not getting work here. Although, I qualified some project's interview, yet due to some internal reason, they considered someone else, and I again came on bench.
I am unable to figure out what can be done now.
Should I start searching work outside.

I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

What will the project dynamics be on a project staffed with 3mdps, a PL, and myself, a summer UG intern? Just got staffed and will be hearing more on Monday from the team, but it came across as an interesting staffing composition.

I have joined cognizant yesterday. I came to know that office location is bantala in Kolkata. I do not want to work in bantala location. I have talked with my recruiter. But hs said offer location is decided on project allocation. How can I change the location to other location? If I leave the job will it be any problem?

This. Have people on my teams that have similar outlooks. I enjoy the team dinners/in person meetings we get to have now, but would not allow this to affect performance discussions at all, unless there are other glaring issues. Even at that point, it would be a “Why are we not doing enough to develop?” Discussion than talking about why the performance is bad
Context: I’ve been seeing my grandparents and parents (all 60+) a lot since last year. We took quarantine really seriously. Really enjoying the family time and would rather not cut it short (both because of travel and variant exposure potential).
Yes and it’s a fair perception. The question is of whether you should be traveling is not yours to make, that is the purview of the employer. With that as a baseline assumption why is your desire to spend time with family more important than that of a peer. It unfair to expect that your situation is more special than others.
It’s like a firefighter saying they won’t take live calls cause they don’t want to take the risk of getting hurt. The risk of getting covid is now a baseline assumption of all employment and companies cannot play into individual circumstances to operate.
You are probably correct that it may be possible to do it remote. However it is not OPs decision and unfortunately companies cannot get into a review game on each individual case of travel for a company like Deloitte. The team is traveling at the purview of that teams lead. OP can refuse but understand the impacts on them.
There is for sure work that the big firms are doing that requires travel and it’s not for a peanut gallery to judge.
If you are getting signals that it has, document and contact HR.
Just tell them you don’t feel comfortable cuz you’re high risk.
