Mother NY (or any location tbh)... what’s their culture and senior leadership like? I feel like they’re unsung heroes of the ad world but that may just me being naive.

I’ve worked at both the Mother London and NY offices. I can confirm that it is an amazing place to work, full of very talented people. It really is an incredible agency. So much fun

Oh man... it would be such a dream to work with the design team there. From the outside it looks like one of those rare ad agencies that have a strong design voice.

Big picture question: How did you settle on a FIRE number? Originally I did the simple "estimated annual living expenses divided by 4% rule", but am now second guessing that for many reasons. For example, if I want to live on 70,000 per year, I'll need 1.75MM... but what if 70,000 in 20 years won't be a ton of money? Also, what about saving up for kid's college funds? How to account for the possibility of tax law changes? So many questions!

I really want to try for baby no. 2 soon but now if I would start it would put me in my busiest month of January when the baby would be due. I already went down in hours this past year because of the pandemic and my Team had to pick up the slack. I also was told yesterday that the team struggled when I went down in hours. I really want to start trying because I want my kids closer in age. My daughter turns 2 in July so I would like to start soon so they are 2.5-3 years apart. I don’t know

Ahem - any ladies have tips and tricks for hair removal practices I came from a culture of waxing but that requires hair to fully grow + my hair grows pretty quickly so waiting for full growth for waxing is hard to work around (for legs, underarms, etc.). I tried shaving but my hair began showing in 1-2 days. In general though, not something my family struggles with in general, but I’m just hairier? I know this is a weird question, but looking for any tips and tricks!

Decade+ in and realizing I would rather be either in pure play brand consulting (like an Interbrand) or in consumer/culture advisory (deeper thought leadership, trends, consulting, like a Gartner or a WGSN ish) than stay in ad agencies working on campaign development. Has anyone made a pivot like this successfully? I feel like I am at a point where there are some skills or experiences those worlds require that I haven’t been able to “go deep” on, consistently in agency brand planning world.
