Buying high quality knives and pots/pans is a game changer if you cook at all. For the longest time I just had beater stuff from target, which was fine, but my now wife insisted we put good stuff on the registry.....I don’t know how I didn’t cut off a finger or burn down the house all those years.
She also burns candles like 80% of the time we are home. Hurts the wallet with how many we go through but having some of the more wintery/homey smells wafting around has been great. “Winter” from Bath and Body works is a great example of what I’m talking about. I actually signed up for their mailing list to get discounts 😂
I also spend on what I spend time doing - I play video games in my downtime and have put a small fortune into getting my machine and desk/chair/office in general how I want it. Don’t skimp on what you like, buy once cry once.
(Sorry to keep editing, think about this a lot)

Pro-tip, if you burn the candle down you can keep the glass, freeze it with the wax still In to make it easy to remove, and then put faux candles in them to make a great/easy glow.
Coffee maker, good spices for cooking, and a 2nd monitor would be my picks.
I like Penzeys for spices!
Make sure you logically divide the office area and rest of the home . Treat the office as you were really at client site or office
That’s great advice! I will be sure to do that, thank you.
My bed.

Also don’t skimp on your pillows! Figure out what you like and get a good brand(for you). I upgraded to king size pillows that are, by happenstance, a perfect mixture of soft but able to hold shape/support(for me) and I haven’t slept better in years.
For me, coffee maker, cookware, grill, desk!
Standing desk not necessary but I have enjoyed the option ‐ mine is electric
Definitely worth it to get a rug or two. It really warms the space. Next, some art. Doesn’t have to be expensive.

Living spaces has a tonnnnnnn of options if you have one nearby
Definitely have a separate work area, even if it's just a desk. Was much harder to separate mentally when my work area was also my couch or my bed or my dining table. Also, would invest in a good work chair.
I'm a plant person, so love to have lots of plants and potted flowers. It's also better for air quality, depending on the plants.
Do you have a balcony at all? If not, maybe would also get a sunlamp.
I like kalanchoes and violets. Orchids are surprisingly low maintenance - you only water once a week. Bamboo are hit or miss with me. And I ended up getting an Aerogarden during the COVID valley (I was that person...). Great for growing fresh herbs!
A few things that make me very happy: TV, Rugs, Plants, a nice home office.
Coffee maker, office chair, plants, rugs, art, and good sound system.
My tv 😁
Diffuser and or candles are so relaxing in my room to use after the workday is done :)

High quality desk/chair and sharp knives (sharpener is a must)

1. Desk, Shelf; Floyd
2. Coffee Machine; Nespresso Vertuo*
3. Electric kettle/water boiler; Cuisinart PerfecTemp*
4. Blender; Vitamix Ascent*
5. Work Chair; Herman Miller Aeron
6. Dutch Ovens; Le Creuset** (Crate & Barrel has a handful on sale now!)
7. Vacuum Cleaner; Non-cordless Dyson
