Moving to D consulting near the top of the band for the C level. Spent 2.5 years at PwC straight from UG. When should I be targeting promotion to SC? Looking for a range (agressive to conservative)

What’s your new base at Deloitte? Having 2.5 years experience coming in puts you in line with first year consultants. Typically you would promote to SC after 2-3 years as a consultant. So for your situation, 18 months from now is probably both realistic and “aggressive."

125 is very high for a consultant- congrats! Which group are you joining? Promotions go into effect in September each year but decisions are made in the spring. You’d have a chance if you meet the right people and perform well over the next 12 months

like

They’re going to give you really low raises and bonuses until you’re back in line with the rest of the comp model. You may get 0%

like

It happens all the time with people who jump (small raises to bring in line with peers). If you can get another large pay raise then definitely jump again.

like

Thank you!

Congrats! I got 128k for C too just before the holidays, tier 2 city. Is your bonus capped at 10%, my offer letter says that. 3 years exp.
D folks, what's the average bonus like for consultants?

I am as well, but TBH my base is high enough that ill take a potential 5-7K cut in bonus for 2 or so years until next promotion when i presume we would be subjected to the same bonus terms as other SCs

3 Things to keep in mind which changing jobs:
1. Always ask dedicated budget for the job before you tell your expectations.

2. Always have atleast 2 weeks of gap before you join any company. You might not understand significance of that but just have a gap.

3. Always talk to people of team you will be joining before you accept offer or atleast before you join company.

Been feeling spread too thin lately but I don’t know whats typical. Curious what others do. And would you mind sharing whether you’re a junior, midlevel, partner, etc??

I realize sheer number of cases doesn’t tell the whole story… obviously you can be buried on one massive case. I’m finding it hard to jump back and forth between everything I have going on right now, though, but I don’t know if the answer is to just deal with it.
