I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

OP you’re taking this personally and then trying to pay them back on a personal level. This type of attitude won’t get you far. Try to step outside your narrowed vision and think what’s causing them to not answer your emails. It could be something else. They might be waiting to hear back from another project that they’re excited about. Consulting is a lot about building a personal brand (yeah I know, we all hate that talk but it’s true). If you’ve come to a point in your career where people don’t want to work with you then you need to think long and hard about how you’re coming across. Try to get over your own blind spots because we’re rated on utilization hours and if people prefer to no utilization hours (self harm) than work with you on a project, you haven’t been paying enough attention. I’m saying this because I really do believe that if you did some self assessment you might be able to course correct and become a person that people on the bench will proactively ask to get staffed on your projects. Self awareness, that is all
OP like others have said, maybe nobody wants to join your project. Maybe it has a terrible reputation. Maybe you're notorious for having extreme expectations. Maybe the project management extends people until they quit. I wouldn't blame people for not wanting to join a project they'll inevitably quit. I know an Accenture project just like that
Happy Holidays, Ebenezer!
Annoying for sure...but have you considered that maybe you are the problem? Perhaps none of them want to work with you...
You’re an absolute looser
Complain to a partner not here OP. Someone should lay you off for having such evil thoughts. Moreover, I am guessing that you never helped them when they asked for it.
OP is salty cause no one wants to be on their project
Maybe OP has a reputation he doesn’t know about; I have a few people I actively avoid when I’m on the bench
Such a loser OP. Probably the most useless staffing person in the history of Accenture.
OP, I got your email and decided not to respond 😛
What an asshat
I bet OP is a TFS. No fuck is ever given to TFS, unfortunately
Same here, I actively avoid some people who are asshole and I don’t reply or pick up phone from them if they call for project. They can go fuck and do the delivery themselves.
OP, in the army we used to have people like you for lunch. Didn’t taste good, though. It actually tasted like shit for all it’s worth.
It must be LRS
By the looks of it the people OP is emailing to get staffed know about OP and his lameness. Probably avoiding you tbh OP. 🤦🏻♂️
OP is a loser on a crap project. Staff see his ema and nope the fuck out of there. Kudos to you staff, gotta dodge the land mines any way you can
Nope, I’ll complain here all day long, if for no other reason than to piss off people who think emails aren’t important.
I always respond to emails, but I could see why some people wouldn't. My TFS is unnecessarily rude and unhelpful.
Based on my prior experience most likely your project is a dog.
