It’s time for me to move on from my back office/CBS job at EY. I’ve been able to get through to recruiter and hiring manager screening round with FAANG employers and some tech companies but never beyond that. How can I differentiate myself when I’m probably also up against our client facing colleagues in consulting. I have about 12 years experience (7 at EY doing the same thing).

Happy for you OP. A bad boss can really ruin your life/confidence/self worth/mental health
Ive found that people who are terrible to me are often terrible to others and usually the situation sorts itself out but always talk about/report behavior appropriately so they dont live in the shadows
Chief
Such toxic people should not be allowed/tolerated in work place but yet they are kept for way too long.
Glad you are free of her bad behavior.
Same here. Struggled with a bad boss who made my life hell for 1 year. After a new head in the region he was shut out and moved to a small role/ scope. I then got back to back promotions.
Said the same thing about my ex wife
Well the first one
Lol she was making you work huh! 😂
This was the wrong take on the situation. She was verbally abusive, condescending, rude, and belittled her subordinates.
Curious to know what does “making your life hell” look like for some of you from the experiences you’ve had with managers? I never want to be that kind of leader/boss.
Oh no. Causing humiliation to others is a no-go. Sorry you and others dealt with that!!
I had a similar situation. I eventually moved cities and departments and found out she left anyway. I got double promoted with my new team and it took forever for me to regain my confidence in my subject matter.
The confidence hit is real😩
I experienced something similar with a male director, but to his advantage I ended up changing my job, because I couldn’t take it. So toxic that I literally, felt PTSD for a long time even after changing jobs.
Turns out he has treated many others in the same way. But he is flourishing.
