Hello Société Générale folks,
Looking for some honest advice. Considering an offer with SocGen B’lore for Specialist Software Engineer position with 5.5 years exp and into Tech service management. Could you please tell me a bit about following points?
- I see 25% of the compensation(5Lakhs) is Variable. Does company even pay 60% of it at the end of the year if you perform say 4/5 rating?

Family Law Software? Pros and cons?
Hi all,
I’m looking to relocate to Seattle. Does anyone know if any of the Big 4 are still recruiting campus hires to start in Summer/Fall 2023? I’m open to either Audit or Tax, but I have internship experience in Tax.
I applied and received an offer at a Big 4 in San Francisco (campus hire), but I’ve decided Seattle is the better fit for me as it will be closer to my hometown and family in Vancouver.
Thanks!

If you feel you are below market rates, leave for another employer. You probably already have a reputation for someone who your superiors feel that does a good job, doesn't make any noise.... "Let's give them a standard raise because they aren't going anywhere."
Regardless of the company you work for, higher salary typically comes with higher positions. You have to constantly focus on what's required to be promoted and what's required to attain the highest bonuses.
Being an introvert does not preclude you from meeting those people who can champion your raises and promotions. This is sometimes easier if you leave and start fresh at a different company without an established reputation
Jump ship. Easiest way to get a raise.
OP - it is truly unfortunate that there are many cases where it is those people that make the most noise do get the raises and the promotions ahead of those that are more focused on actually doing the work.
I'm not sure where you are on the scale of being introverted so I don't know if you may find this helpful.
Force yourself to go to lunch with your coworkers. And mix up the groups of people you go to lunch with. Sometimes with your peers at the same level. Sometimes with your manager. Sometimes with some of the newer people.
Also, it may be worth looking into smaller firms, where you aren't just one of the hundreds or thousands of people. There are firms where hard work and team work DO matter.
Document those times you go above and beyond.
"Easy to work with" ... maybe I'm reading too much into this, but are you saying "yes" too often? Make sure you set boundaries about what you are and are not willing to do.
I wish you the best of luck. It can be a tough process to figure out what works for you while maintaining and protecting your mental health. At the end of the day, you have to do what's right for you and your situation.
Agreed with EY1, been there done that.
Not sure what’s the long term solution tho
Also, being knowledgeable, teachable, and easy to work with... Isn't that the minimum? Nothing you state there really screams high performer. Maybe you are, in which case, you need to do a better job in selling yourself and what value you bring.
And there goes one of my problems... selling myself, but trying to find ways to improve this. I had always wished that someone would see the true “human” in me and took a chance with mentoring me to the level I need to be perceived and paid equally. I’m not one to chase money/title or power hungry like a lot I’ve come across, and I do believe rating peers against same KPI doesn’t allow people to be real. I’m definitely no “high performer” against those KPI, but I do my job well and go beyond when I can simply because it’s my nature. Loyalty, team player and hard working seem not to matter much. Most are “smart worker” now - doing the bare minimum but selling self as doing the most. In the end, it’s all about the bottom line for company and employees. I get it, and know it’s me that needs to do something.
Happy to discuss with you if you're interested OP. Drop a burner or PM me.
