My job changed overnight because i was put in a project that requires travel more than 50% of the time and now I need to be on my feet at least 70% of the time during those days when i am onsite. My job was sedentary and analytical and it has changed overnight. I was not given the option to refuse this project. Is there any option for me to get out othis project? i feel ethically and legally tgithis incorect to impose this on me. I would be much obliged if anyone can give me some suggestions

You aren't obligated to continue with the project, given that you weren't given a choice unless that's part of the nature of your work and/or it's part of your employment agreement.
They are changing terms of your employment that you must consent to as it's drastically different than what you were doing.
Personally? I would be contacting a lawyer to discuss your rights and have them give you direction on next steps as it's difficult to advise you without specifics.
Good luck.

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?

What's the best form of compensation to ask for and why?

My employers' CEO just announced that they just received $7 million from investors. He wants to use that money to offer incentives to employees that hussle and drive more revenue for the company. We're not sure what those incentives look like yet, but here are some post-announcement rumors from my co-workers:

Cash bonuses, raises, profit-sharing, company equity, 401k match, etc.

Does anyone work at a firm where legal assistants don't do legal assistant things? For example, I have to do my scheduling and calendaring. I have to upload documents to our file management system. This morning, a name partners assistant didn't realize the name partner had a depo and didn't confirm it. This is how this firm as been for decades and it's incredibly frustrating to work this way. Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.
