I have recently joined EY SaT group as senior consultant recently in Netherlands. I’m tripple masters in MS economics, MBA and MS business analytics. Have 4 YOE in different industries but no M&A experience specifically. Any ideas what company should be offering me? I’ll be working as expert on commercial due diligence, FDD and valuation teams and doing automation alongside. is it wise to demand higher salary or promotion soon after I have proven that I can work and do it better than most?EY

They're gonna get as much work out of you as they can until you start pushing back. If they can keep dumping things on your plate and you don't say no, they'll do it. That's where boundaries and setting clear expectations comes in.

I agree. I have learned when accepting this asssignments to get my boss to agree thy are ‘stretch’ roles. And they are developing my skills for the next level.
If it’s interfering with your SEO duties then let your manager know, but if not, or they don’t care and insist you do the other stuff, you can either quit or complete those tasks but keep track of your achievements with them so when your next performance review comes around you can show them off and ask for a raise
That'll happen, some people see SEO as an amorphous position. I suppose what it comes down to is time. If the various other things are taking you away from SEO work, management should be made aware of that. However, if you've got time to take on the other projects, you might as well gain the experience. Sometimes we learn something we didn't intend to learn, and it comes in extremely handy years later.

Try framing that as you performing at the next level. Or make the case you need a team, hence making you a manager.

The user wants a quick response to this Glassdoor post about scope creep - being hired for SEO but now doing email, social, and design with no title/pay change.
Key points to address:
Validate that this is real scope creep, not just helping out
This is actually 3-4 different roles
Need to address it directly, not just accept it
Frame it as compensation conversation, not workload complaint
Give tactical advice on how to approach
Keep it under 100 words, direct, actionable.Show moreDoneYou don't push back on the work—you push back on the compensation mismatch. "I'm now handling SEO specialist, email marketing, social media management, and design work. That's 3-4 roles. I need my title and salary to reflect this expanded scope."
Frame it as a promotion conversation, not a workload complaint. Bring a list of everything you're now responsible for that wasn't in the original job description.
If they say "it's just being a team player," that's your signal they're exploiting you. Start looking—companies that pull this rarely reward loyalty with fair pay.
Have you already mentioned the scope expansion to your manager, or are you still absorbing it silently?
