Start putting out apps now. Because you will fail your first few interviews, but it will teach you what they are looking for. Get your Scrum Master or Product Owner cert, and by that time you’ll have a working knowledge of what firms are looking for and how to interview for positions.
A lot of what I do as a PM is directly transferable from my experience as an M&A consultant. You have it even better because you are in Strat consulting at a T2. An MBA might not be necessary tbh.

Of course mileage may vary especially if you are targeting FAANG. But even then you can spend a year at a startup or smaller firm, where you can make real change and then transition over.
I mean I got a technical pm role from strategy consulting by just cold applying and nailing the strategy aspects of the interview. Ended up being 9 interviews and they told me my worst interview was the product specific one, but that my process excellence and strategy experience would bring a new element to the team that they wanted
Wow that’s amazing! How did you study?

Do implementations if you can or get a role as a product owner. This was how I transitioned to a PM role in tech
Appreciate the insight!
MBA is key. That's the silver bullet to accelerate your career, get an amazing network, and jump to PM
Just curious, what was your background? Tech consulting or core strategy?
I work in strategy now but I have a degree in computer science and my projects are all tech strategy focused
