Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.
Is Huron hiring right now?

This is the time to speak your truth. Even if it doesn’t go anywhere, they owe you the chance to be heard.
Speak up
There’s literally no benefit to speaking your mind.
Exit interviews are the easiest way for a company to show you they don’t actually care. If they wanted to create a positive work environment, they would have asked you for feedback well before you left.
There’s no benefit for you telling them what you think. Nor will it actually change anything at the company for those you left behind.
No. Thank them. Wish them well. Leave. Unless you are retiring forever.
My last exit interview was with an untrustworthy HR person who didn't actually write anything down that was discussed. To me, that translated to her not really understanding the business well enough to take suggestions for improvement. It was all above board and professional from my end, but I literally could have been more productive talking to the wall. My advice, keep it professional but short. You gave them enough of your time!
Exit interviews like that don’t benefit you. Don’t do things that work against you
Unless you are a superstar and the agency is going to suffer greatly from your departure, nothing you say will even leave the room. And even if it did, nobody will own up to anything you describe as problematic once you’re gone, unless you hand over concrete proof
I always wonder if anybody lets it fly in exit interviews. I dont know if it ever goes anywhere or gets read by the powers that be. Id love to hear back how this goes, let us know 😃
I was in that exact same position. Moved out of state but that decision was partly informed by my feeling pushed out of my role at work anyway. I never did say anything about it to the senior leadership, but my colleagues knew. I don't regret it to be honest, and maintained good relationships with them since moving. I'd just be honest and ask yourself if speaking up will change anything at the agency, and more importantly, do you care either way?
In my experience, it seems that people (myself included) overestimate their importance at work, and in reality, 6 months from now you'll be shocked at how little this situation bothers you.
Best of luck with the move.
Totally agree with the overestimation of importance notion. Unless you are a magnet in the industry, with huge client relationships, (and those people are nowhere,) you’re just inflating your own sense of self-importance believing anybody cares what you think as you leave
Disagree. Use your voice. If you do not you will be haunted with nightmares. Be brave and hope your words will bring change.
No benefit to telling the truth. Every time I’ve done it leaving a job they pin it back on you somehow and it doesn’t make you feel any better. Criticisms are never embraced or received in the way we hope
Would you tell a sociopath what you really think of them right before leaving their house for the last time?
If you’re really moving out of the market then yeah, go for it.
I’ve heard advice that says not to go ballistic, just point out some area that could use improvement. Nothings going to change as a result but it could be a cathartic exercise
TRUTH is needed more
Do yourself and others a solid and PUT IT IN WRITING. Create a record. The agency has to be held accountable. They can’t improve a situation without people being transparent. If they don’t act on it, there will be a record of it in the future. Create an identical copy of what you wrote for yourself. Send it to yourself SEALED,certified mail. Don’t open it. Save it for when the agency is cited in a class action suit. It will be postmarked and dated by the mailing and can be used in court as evidence. What you described is rampant and is all going to blow up. Trust me. Across all industries, agencies and brands are being called out. It’s not going away. You can be cordial and gracious as you exit and be most effective by protecting yourself and taking the necessary steps to insure you’ve done everything possible by giving them a heads up.
My exit interview was with some random hr person I had never even seen before.
