I’m 26 weeks pregnant and trying to figure out my leave. I live in NJ and work at PwC, any fishes know the policy for NJ and PwC? The leave center has not been much help and I want to plan NOW not like 60 days before. I was told NJ gets two weeks before due date and PwC gives you two weeks as well.

I tested positive last week after my first two pregnancies were negative. I am crunchy af and have no problem with doing prophylactic antibiotics in labor. Not a hill to die on at all.
Crunchy/organic mama. I got the antibiotics. I would be devastated if my child had a complication that I could’ve prevented.
Yes, early GBS disease can occur and is indicated by preterm labor or PPROM. Both of which would be indications for prophylactic antibiotics anyway.
I probably would have been more flexible on prophylactic antibiotics for GBS until I met someone who skipped antibiotics and their newborn developed GBS disease. Statistics are cool until it’s your infant at play, so I’ll happily take knowing I need to support building my newborn’s microbiome over a months-long NICU stay or dead baby.
I was positive with both kids and skipped antibiotics. No issues.
Being a carrier doesn’t equate to active infection Likelihood of sepsis without other risk factors is like 1%. For me, not worth the guaranteed yeast infection and compromised microbiome.
If I had a fever, was premature, or other major risk factor then I’d consider it.
100%. The antibiotics take 4 hours to kick in anyways. I did most of my laboring at home to help reduce interventions overall.
Always happy to share my experiences if any other questions come up. Feel free to DM me anytime. Best of luck!

How far are you? I tested positive in first tri and negative in 3rd. They typically just treat you at delivery and don’t test a 2nd time which is bs to
Me. I tested every visit leading up to delivery and did a rapid at labor. All negative. Ped said if it was negative a week within delivery it’s fine.
Unnecessary antibiotics are worth avoiding but risk of sepsis etc from passing GBS to baby are grave so make sure you make an informed decision with doctors and can rule out completely
Unfortunately, they gave me the test at 37 weeks so not much time but will try retesting 2x before delivery
I tested positive and was treated during delivery. They are trying to give you antibiotics before? I wasn’t tested until my 3rd trimester in preparation for delivery.
It wasn’t bad. Made my hand burn really bad though. I ultimately got an emergency c section because my baby wasn’t responding well to the increased contractions (his heart rate would drop so they didn’t think he would survive labor). So, it wasn’t needed. lol
Update: retest came back positive so will do the antibiotics even though I’m a naturopath 😭 I’ve been praying to be a mother for so long, thanks everyone for your input. Really appreciated hearing different viewpoints!
