You guys are too nice! I wish my parents were paying my adult bills haha. Is he finished with school? Trying to find a job? Living with you? If still living with you, he should probably be contributing somehow.

If he's unemployed, get him on an income based plan and get that $0 payment for the short term which will provide you relief and mean he doesn't have the expense for a bit. Then figure out how to get him on his own 2 feet in the coming months.
This! You've done enough for him paying them until the age of 29, imo. There are so many other people out there without this type of help that have loans and are on income driven repayment plans.
He's 30 in a few weeks which ends your obligation on his student loans. Now he can apply for a deferment or forbearance until he can get employed and able to make payments on his own.
He's 30 and you have really supported him for more than the average amount of time a parent supports their child. It's time to back off and let him start learning how to navigate life situations. He will need to figure out a way to start making his own payments even if it means he takes a job he doesn't neccessarily like. You have done your job, mom and dad. Awesome job but it's time to let go.
Can you adopt me? My parents never paid a cent of my loans.
Just be honest with him about your situation. You’re his pa and love him but you can’t go into dire straits like that. You have to help you first so you can help him later.
