* Current CTC: 18 LPA

Offer 1 – Evernorth
* 30 LPA (27 fixed + 3 variable)
* Tech stack: AWS data stack
* Joining next week

Offer 2 – FedEx ACC

* 29.5 LPA total (26 fixed + 2 variable + 1.5 joining bonus)
* Tech stack: Azure now, moving to GCP next year
* Joining may be ~2 weeks after LWD due to BGV

Looking majorly for job security and WLB and growth.

Here’s a hypothetical:

A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷

Does anyone work in an area with lots of exterior environmental noise (traffic, concerts, trains, etc.) and have tips for not becoming overwhelmed and/or distracted by it? I’m finding that environmental noise has increased near my office now that tourism has picked back up in my city, and I’m struggling to block it out. I’ve tried earplugs but the noises tend to vibrate my office building so the earplugs don’t work well as an entire block.
