Probably a new joiner?

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Capital One easily,
The reason why is you are getting more general recognition at CapOne, and the comp is a lot more which will help you save up for business school.
Prophet is well known for brand strat.
prophet is a lot better. more exposure to different clients and industries - with cap1 you’re getting no learning or growth
Many folks at prophet go to b school typical schools are kellog, Stanford, Wharton etc
Don’t know much about Prophet but I didn’t like my time at Capital One. So default choice for me is Prophet.
Yes, BA. WLB is was usually good, only a few late nights here and there if we were chasing a deadline but 80-90% of the time I would clock out at 5/6pm and so would the rest of the team. The higher you go, wlb gets worse though. And some teams do work harder than others so it’s somewhat team dependent.
Easy promotion in 1 year if you do you job well at C1. Base can go upwards of 120k.
5-10% bonus, 7.5% company contribution to 401k, 5k educational credit per year to upskill. All adds up. And WLB is great.
On the flip side, I have no idea about Prophet.
So, after 2 years, you could be making 150k+ as a manager if you’re able to be in that top percent
Prophet is a fantastic experience and I love it here (a perspective I have after being at multiple firms, boutique and non-boutique alike). If you got through our interview process and received an offer, you’ve met the bar of culture fit. We assess for that just as much as we do for intellectual curiosity, business acumen, etc.
I would say make your choice of where you’d be willing to spend a couple years figuring it out while actually enjoying it. Chances are you won’t be at C1 or Prophet longer term anyways!
Working at Prophet seems more fun to me and that comp difference is not that big. Heard mixed reviews on cap one culture too.
BA teaches presentation and management skill. Boutique consulting teaches subject matter. When you are a fresh grad, likely you won’t be in one place forever. So doesn’t really matter. I’d go for the $.
prophet >>> trust me on this one as someone who came from cap one
Yeah, if you really want to go tech, then go faang (or whatever they are called now) or other real tech companies. C1 is trying hard to be perceived as tech but is still a bank at its core.
Prophet. What you learn about branding will take you ahead light years. Get really good at it.
Prophet brand is much stronger, and will give you a more valuable pre bschool experience, and set you up for better post mba ops. Not even close.
Happy to share more about Cap1. Idk how quantitative Prophet is, but you will likely be doing pretty challenging analysis at Cap1, AND can get exposure to tech depending on your project.
It’s not uncommon for BA folks on certain teams to get closer to more of a PM role
They are both good. Is prophet remote or hybrid? As a new grad I would prioritize the team where you can get a consistent in-person experience (some type of hybrid). It might be better for your learning, mental health, and feeling of belonging.
