Not sure if this is inspo, but maybe
I thought I wanted to FIRE a couple of years ago. Gave it a shot for 9 months - tons of family time, volunteering, lots of travel, sports and hobbies.
But realized I wasn’t ready.
Now working 3 days a week and setting my own schedule. I don’t need the money but this is the best time of my life. Perfect WLB so I can still stay sharp but have little to no stress.
Highly recommended.
Life sciences consulting. Mainly BD/networking.
My spouse and I are at $4.1m and have a $5m target. Hoping to get there in 2 years. We are 33 right now but honestly my job is quite chill and I’m making more than ever before that I wonder if I’d be able to quit
What do you do?
40 year old solo female. 1ish year out from FI target which is $1.6M. But I’m kind of coast FIREing in the sense that I seem close to perfecting the 4 hour work week. My hourly rate is $600 so if I get that rate, I don’t have to work very much to pay my bills. And I’m self employed so I don’t have anyone telling me how much I have to work. I’ll probably keep doing this beyond hitting my FI number so I can keep renewing my residence permit (I geoarbitraged in Europe).
Fire number was $2.5M. Two kids in and keep recalibrating. Now it’s $5M. Currently at $3.1M.
We will be 43 so similar! But plan to go to Italy. We have residency. A bit cheaper in Europe.
56 and hope to within a few years. At $3M NW (1m home equity and 2m mostly retirement accts) . Looking to add another 1m during these high earning years if I can hold on
Divorce, career change in early 30s and getting two kids through college .

We FIRE’d a few years ago at 37 (me) / 38 (spouse) and 2 kids below 3. It’s been great so far and despite our household spend increasing 150% post-FIRE, our NW and passive income has also continued to grow.

Dividend funds. We’re not from the US and based in Asia where there’s 0% tax on dividends so it works for us.

Late 30s. Not so much as a number as much as the time to vest stock options, which landed us with 8-figures. We use online FIRE calculators to review our financial decisions and make sure that we don’t make any choices that require us to go back to work.
