New to US healthcare and trying to get my annual checkup scheduled at Northwestern as it’s closer to where I live in downtown. Can someone tell me how to go about this? What services / doctors I need to look for and what tests to cover during annual checkup?

Look for internal medicine doctors and theyll tell you the tests you need. It would be helpful if you had medical information from your prior country. You may need to be caught up on vaccines.

Just look up primary care physicians (also called internal medicine) and schedule an annual physical. The doctor will determine what tests you need, you don’t need to tell them.

People do annual checkups if healthy?

Bro u should prob get checked even if you're healthy. Sometimes a simple blood panel can reveal stuff too. Even if you're in the bucket of healthy, low fat, moderately active, etc.

Search for someone in internal medicine / primary care and by the campus you want (Streeterville) and call for a new patient appt. You only need a primary care physician for annual checkup and for referrals down the line.

I have $20k in savings, I owe $6,000 to my 401k loan, that’s the only loan I got. I am debt free otherwise except for my house. Should I use my savings to pay off? I recently bought my 1st home in TX. I want to get into real estate and eventually own/rent out multiple homes. Are there any good recommendations/tips on books/articles/websites that others have used to get started?

I've read about HELOC and cash out refinance to get a 2nd home but articles are so scattered that it gets confusing which is better in terms of tax benefits and immediate costs, etc. Anything others have found helpful that summarized how to get started would be great!

Just moved into an apartment in Old Town. The insulation for both sound and heat is terrible. I can hear everything going on outside and am nervous that the heat/gas bill will be insane.
