So they're offering ~99k all in for consultant. You're already making 97k all in AND if you make consultant next year you'll likely get a healthy bump. The answer is clear: don't switch unless you really aren't liking the work at Accenture.
Unless your offer is specifically with Monitor, your odds of getting staffed on those projects is very small. I ended up leaving Deloitte because my odds were better at another firm. I would only jump if I had a clear idea of how the work would be different from your current situation.
You hate it so much that you can’t wait 10 more months? D doesn’t have stock purchasing because it’s private, and our 401k matching sucks compared to accenture. .25 cents for every dollar up to 6%. You’re losing more than a couple of thousand at that offer. Either counter or wait 10months.
A13 - that was my life story for 2 years ... compete waste of time. I think s and o is a better scene than acn mc any day
So you’re actually thinking of moving for 2k? Ever heard of opportunity cost?
Agree with the comments above. Also, how do you figure you are “7-9 months from Consultant”? By my count 11 months and a few weeks for the next promo cycle effective date...
A2 - Being connected with a Strat MD as a CDP analyst will only lead to late nights, empty promises, and eventual disenchantment as you get hit with the "we only staff Strategy resources" line.
Are you NYC or SF?
Agree... you should wait for the Accenture bump. Then try coming over to the D again, maybe at SC level
D1, do you think I will have Better luck getting staffed on strategy engagements w monitor ? That is the primary reason for leaving acn , couple $k right now doesn’t mean much in grand scheme if I’m doing work I don’t enjoy
I’d wait OP. Try to make changes at acn with your cc
Youll be at 106 - 108k for C1 next year as the base
Did you get an offer with Monitor?
Ask Deloitte for 110k with 5k bonus. See what happens. Get your 15% approx
OP, hmmm, CDP myself recently connected with a Strat MD and helping with few little things. Based on your experience it won’t lead anywhere though?
Absolutely brutal situation for ACN Mc people looking to switch — u have to deal with a highly beaurocratic system of HRCA’s and approvals coupled w arrogant strategy personnel who look down upon MC. I must have worked additional 7-10 hours a week on top of day job for 9 months to make impressions w strategy leaders — all for them to abuse my time to crank out formatting and reward me with nothing but a thank you. For those of u thinking I am salty ; I’m saltier than the Baltic Sea my friends
A9 and a12, good to hear you guys are doing all that — and it will deff help you in interviews. I was able to spin my work accordingly in my interviews. Keep doing that but don’t lose sight of MC network and career progression if you plan on sticking it out here for 1-2 more years. I made the mistake of ignoring a lot of Mc networking opps ... and no one really knows me in MC , only people who know me are strategy — and I’ve recognized no ROI. This made it tough to even find an MC role when I was axed off of strategy roles from HR and l2 strategy md’s due to bench constraints for strat level 9s ...issue is , there are too many strategy people being brought on from campuses just to increase HC for strat and keep up w market. We will never beat the system , I’m pro at bullshitting / whatever you want to call it — it’s a dead end if you want to transition to strategy From Mc, trust me on this
OP, Deloitte's Consultant level is not the same as our level 9 Consultant level. Their equivalent is called Senior Consultants. You are essentially getting a pay reduction for the same Senior Analyst title.
What city? Deloitte monitor is def worth considering though. Congrats on getting that
A5 you are right I am 11 months away since unlikely that I get consultant at mid year 2018 right ? A7 - tier 1 City
