Offers- Boston Consulting Group IT Lead vs EY Manager-which one to choose?
Offer 1- BGC - corporate-internal business operations as IT lead , $165k Base and 15% Bonus and 10K Joining bonus. Need to relocate to Boston
Offer 2 - EY Tech consulting- Manager, $185k Base and 10% Bonus no joining bonus and no relocation.
I’m inclined towards EY, but BCG benefits seams to be far superior. What do you recommend?
I have 15 yoe in product company. New to consulting.

Back office roles almost invariably result in poorer progression and being seen as "second class" to front office personnel.
I personally would choose EY in this case. If it were client facing at BCG I'd 100% say BCG
Ask EY for a signing bonus, but read the conditions carefully. 😂
I I didn’t know EY TC Ms were paid that high. I’d go with bcg because of name brand.

BCG is private, EY may not be for much longer with the split. Benefits will likely be better at BCG longer term unless you can get into a leadership role at EY soon
Let’s just put it this way OP.
Irrespective of internal or external role, EY will hire you in a heartbeat coming from BCG.
BCG will likely not hire you coming from EY tech consulting.
Bcg has a much higher brand value and will lead you to much better exits. Think of it as getting a Porsche Cayman (cheapest Porsche - equiv to internal bcg role) vs an average Lexus (Not a flagship one). Pretty clear choice to me
