Ah no you’re good nw haha
If it wasn't IBM, this would be a great move from a financial standpoint. But IBM is notoriously bad for it's hire and fire every year and they have been rocky for a while.
I know personally know a couple of people who got fired last year at IBM (pre pandemic) after having moved there for higher salaries. Despite it being IBM, at that experience level I would still take it.
good need more info here. do you like the work you’re doing now better, or is what you’re gonna be doing better? does the jew company rank higher than your current? are you in a position that you need more money to sustain you?
all of this being said, i would take it tbh, money is hard to come by esp right now
You have built a pretty solid reputation but is that paying you enough? If you think the 40k difference is not going to impact your life in anyway then stay put.
What company u exiting to?

Take it. Boomerang back as a Manager if you don't like it - ex-ACN here.
It’s a 57% salary increase and a level bump. For reference I’m 3 YOE @ 29% salary increase and level bump in that same timespan. What’s the downside?
10-20k difference is within the range where you’d do well to assess other benefits/factors - bonuses, insurance benefits, schedule and work flexibility, etc - in addition to salary. Keep in mind after tax that 10-20k only becomes 6-15k.
Either way you’re in a great position with that offer! And as A1 said, almost 60% increase in any environment is great, let alone in the middle of a pandemic-induced economic crisis.

Money isn't everything. Role / what you're doing, upward mobility, reputation, etc. between the two firms should be compared. On money alone, take it. No way you're selling yourself short, you're bout to be overpaid... but, balance it with all the other non money factors.
Thank you for your response. Aside from money the team I’ll be working with seems great and the work I’ll be doing is exciting so I have no qualms there. But yes I’ll have to assess those other factors
Find one of your other threads and look up my answer.
I think it's a good move. The money helps, but you seem passionate about the work you'd be doing. IBM is going through some big changes right now to grow and innovate so it'd be a great time to get in.
Stay where you are, it’s good to slum it for as long as possible
You’re being underpaid. Take the offer
