Okay, I need real advice because I just don’t understand people I guess. I was recently fired from a company I worked at for 10 years. This post could get extremely long but the short version is, a girl I worked with told a plethora of lies and HR not only believed her BS but documented it and terminated not only me but another of their best and longest working employees over it. She is still employed and has been promoted. And these lies are so blatant I can show 3 texts and prove them wrong.

Am I particularly uptight, or is writing meant to be done alone, without a partner talking to you? With past partners, we chat through script notes and then I go off to execute. Current partner likes to sit and chat as I write. To me, writing is crafting a conversation. So I can’t talk to you and simultaneously talk to this audience. Of course I can just say “I’m gonna go write.” But since we’re both CD level, I’m like…is this his first rodeo? Maybe other writers are different though.

What do you do when when someone at the top of your firm says something bigoted and you don’t call them out immediately?

I was released without cause today but my boss mentioned my battle with mental health and that I’m looking for other jobs before canning me. Should I address this with the board or leave it alone?

My agency doesn’t submit for awards, and I’m not saying I’d win if they did. But as much as we say awards don’t matter, it feels like they do at a lot of places I’d like to eventually work.
