Okay question- I have gold status (1st tier)on American right now. I could fast track on delta to their 3rd tier status within 8-10 weeks. However. That means getting home at 10 pm vs 7pm when i CONTD

Definitely not worth it. I love Delta, but the time is worth more.

like

1) which city do you live? Is it an American hub? I live in DFW and honestly, while delta is objectively better, AA was way more convenient

2) how much longer will you be on this project? Assuming your next project will be in a Different city, flight times are a temporary problem

Status and points are ridiculously overvalued benefits of consulting. Take the 2 hours of your time. Even monetarily you might value that at $100/hr. Don’t let the status drain your life now then you realize it’s no longer worth anything in 2 years

like

Also to echo this point, it's not like you're not getting ANY status... gold/plat/exec plat with American is more comfy than 90% of travelers lol.

When I usually get home on American. I’m having a hard time with the idea of leaving at 7 pm from the client on Thursday’s vs 5 pm. I really don’t want to do that- so I’m curious - Are the perks for that status that much more worth it?

Anything else I need to consider? What would u all do?

Also if you did a platinum challenge your odds of upgrades to anything beyond economy plus are small and only getting smaller (route and timing dependent) so not a huge increase in benefit

Delta has been very focused in getting more paying customers to first/business vs free upgrades of the past. That and the number of diamond / 360 folks is at the largest it’s ever been.

Looking for referrals for a Technical Sales Executive position that is Remote (USA), possibly in the industrial sector. Last year I made $109k at AT&T so I'm hoping to at least stay in the same ball park but want a change. I have lots of experience selling IT/telecom, but I also have a Mechanical Engineering background so I'm a good fit for a wide range of technical sales. I have been thinking a role in the industrial sector with a longer sales cycle may be a good fit, can travel up to 25%
