Bonuses work a bit differently at OW. At other firms, each level has a bonus range. So like an SC at Deloitte maybe has a bonus range between 10-20% and everyone who is an SC will get a bonus in that range depending on their performance.
At OW, each rank and level (within rank) has a target TC which is the same for everyone at that rank and level. So your bonus is essentially your end of year target TC (determined by where you end the year review wise) minus base salary for the year. The comp structure essentially guarantees you end up with a TC reflective of where you performed at for the year.
So if you come in as a SC1 and end the year as a SC1, your bonus might not even crack $10k. If you end the year as a AS1, your bonus may be like $60k. So hard for me to say.
Sounds like you’re in the US? What level SC did they tell you? SC1 or SC2 maybe?
For bonus, it’s tough to give a specific number, because it’s entirely based on where you end up at year end. It’s great if you perform well, but could be very low bonus if you don’t perform well.
Total compensation if you end up as SC3 is likely going to be around $140k (maybe a bit more if firm does well). So if you get promoted to that at year end you’ll get the diff between that and your current base (in this case $140k new total comp, minus $130k base is $10k bonus).
Associate1 total comp is likely going to be $155k, and therefore if you get promoted to ASC1, bonus would be ~$25k.
Associate 2, total comp is likely going to be $190k, so if you get promoted to ASC2, you’d get a ~$60k bonus.
These numbers don’t include profit sharing which could add another couple percentage points to bonus if the firm does well.
Someone from OW feel free to correct if I’m wrong
