115 for 3 years experience in the dc area is a little high. I would say it would max out at around 110 just from people I know / myself
At the consultant level it can be hard for organizations to move outside of their pay bands. Consultants are somewhat of a commodity and they can likely find a cheeper resource with similar skills. Accenture is a major firm. You may not be happy with your compensation now but in the longer-term if you are a rockstar they will compensate you right
...and so far all 3 I have had interviews with have had the same result: they really like me/my background/fit for the job, but they aren’t even close on pay. I’m asking these firms for a ~15-20% pay bump to make the switch, and they are all saying this is much too high. Am I missing something here? Since when is 115-120k in the DC area an outrageous ask? Just getting frustrated....
Not too much $$ at all... Was getting 110-120 offers at the 2 year mark in a different but comparable HCOL city
FYI all these firms I’ve interviewed with are quite small (10-200 employees). Not sure if that is the reason they are so constrained.
Not entirely, but definitely a good portion
No one can answer this except for other employers who want to hire you. Put your resume everywhere, talk to every recruiter, and tell them your salary requirement upfront. You'll see if it's unrealistic or not.
