Opposing Counsel refuses to acknowledge me in any emails, doesn’t answer my phone calls, and does not include my name on the signature line on any documents even though I am the handling attorney on this file. He only includes my supervising attorney and only responds to her. It’s so frustrating. Why are ppl like this?? What can I do? Should I continue to be annoying and email/call him?

Would you feel comfortable telling HR that your service line’s culture sucks and name the individuals who cause it? Or is a better approach saying it’s the leadership in general creating a negative and toxic culture? How effective are these conversations really? Trying to assess if there’s any point in bringing this up. Obviously HR works for the company and an employee sharing their thoughts on the unsupportive, cold leaders could bite me in the long run.

Hi y’all! Hope this is the right bowl to post this question and get advice. I am dealing with an employer that preaches our values. The owner states that the values are important to her etc yet my manager violates these values and is involved in unethical behavior frequently. Example 1: My manager has told specialists (resourcers) that she will pay them under the table in order for her (manager) to get full credit vs splitfor the placement and therefore (barely) hit her target for the quarter.

I have a senior who feels the need to break down every little thing they’re working on, repeating over and over the actions they are going to take after I ask them to do something. I get that he’s likely being overly prepared and wants to make sure I recognize he understands the asks, but I feel like it’s excessive. I’m not a micromanager and don’t need this level of detail. I want to make my senior feel supported, but is there anything I can suggest in this case without sounding like an ass?

In need of advice: How do I get my boss to be more involved and/or help? I’ve some the unspeaking and said I’m overwhelmed. Employee stock purchase plans. My employer has an ESPP that allows me to buy stock at 5% discount on the last day of each month. There are no fees for purchasing the stock or reinvesting dividends. There is a $15-30 fee to sell depending on the type of sales order. Is it worth it to contribute and sell once or twice a year to take advantage of the 5% “free money” while also avoiding the risk of putting too much money in my employer? It’s a pretty stable utility if that matters.
