Our compensation reviews are quickly approaching. I am dreading another year of a pitifully low wage increase of 2% or less. If Dave Ramsey is saying its insulting in this economy, then employers better start paying attention imo. If my raise is 3% or less I might just join the revolution lol

When do we get a response in average, and after how much time does it mean I probably am not getting an offer to continue?
Thanks!

Not a huge Dave Ramsey fan, but that's a great answer. The only instance when this isn't insulting is if the employer lost money that year. Otherwise there's no excuse for it.

Yep. Sometimes he has some ice cold takes but this one is spot on.
As Finance Director 1 said its not how it works. Unfortunately the problem is when you work for a corporation, the people who run the corporations’ jobs are to increase shareholder value. So it’s literally their jobs to pay their employees the least amount possible to keep costs down. Yes thats not fair but what can we do? Quit when we don’t get good pay so they have to hire someone else at a higher rate and we move on somewhere else at a higher rate. Unionize and protest when we don’t get fair raises? Idk the right answer but we have to do something.

I think its fair to say its complicated. Obviously the shareholders wouldn't see profit sometimes if people were getting 10% raises every year... or would they 🤔 maybe people would start putting in way more effort knowing that they felt fairly compensated.
Dave Ramsey is incredibly out of touch the large majority of the time, but he's not wrong here.

Almost exactly what I said above haha. He definitely has some ideas that no longer apply to the rising generation but this isn't one of them.
Better option is to hop companies

I want to do this within the next year or so. It's the only way.
