Hello All,
I have recently joined FIS Global around end of April. My mother recently met with an accident and she needs to be operated.
I haven't been able to update the anything regarding the insurance part yet on FIS portal.
Will my mother's treatment be covered under the insurance? If yes, what's the procedure for the same? What are the documents that I need to submit in order to claim the amount?
Can anyone please guide?

Take it. Don’t let your fear of what other people think rob you of precious time with your child. If it’s your first one I highly recommend it and if it’s your second one with a small toddler then I recommend it even more. Use this time to support your wife. She didn’t get herself pregnant and people need to understand that a male role model in the house to support means everything. If they say anything tell them to come talk to me and I’ll say it in a more colorful words.
Wife is due with our second this year and we have one who will be 2 when the second is born. Keep up the great work y’all!
I’m on partner track. Option to take 16 weeks when wife goes back to work. Planning on taking 8 initially, but starting to think I might take it all. I have a strong team of managers and seniors and if it did have an effect on promotion such as a delay I wouldn’t be furious. If it meant not promoting I would of course be mad.
I probably won’t have any more kids and it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. With our first I took 8 weeks and still worked a bit (and charged my time when I got back). I also want to set an example for younger men in the team that family is way way more important than any job and would be happy for them to take 16 weeks too. It won’t affect our business, but we plan sensibly anyway.
You're one of the good ones
Take the time!
I wouldn't take nearly that much
Why?
What do people think about impact to those with no kids that need to cover when the leave occurs in busy season?
I feel for those that have to stay but that’s why when leaving we should have a good transition plan but I think that regardless of the time of year those staying still have to remember that the individual is going on leave to take care of a baby which in the first few months and I’d even say first year is no easy task. They aren’t going on vacation. People are replaceable, so someone else can step up while that person is gone. Staying during busy season may feel like it sucks but those leaving to have a baby and taking care of one is a busy season in it of itself being that it’s a 24/7 job with no overtime dinners and the like.
I think I should also disclose that my firm does not give 3 months paternity to everyone. Only those who are "primary caregivers". However there is basically no criteria that makes you a primary caregiver. So I've noticed 95% of males only take 2 weeks. Since taking the 3 months is kind of unheard of, I don't know how superiors will react to it.
