Can someone please explain what is “SUPPLEMENTARY allowance” in my payslip??? It is the highest in my entire payslip, more than basic salary. Basic is lets say ₹7 lac annually and supplementary bonus is ₹7 lac 40 thousand.
Can someone please explain why this exists in my paylslip, is it good or bad from tax perspective and shall I ask my HR to decrease it???
Please help asap.

I've come across this mentoring/messaging platform that has quite a few UK professionals who are ready to answer questions. It's called Connectr (formerly My Kinda Future). Seems a bit on the higher end with five years experience imo

120-130 is appropriate for sr creatives in NYC; whether you qualify as a sr depends entirely on your book. 4 years of agency exp is not a ton. If your book is strong, you can maybe swing a sr title at 110-120. More than that is unlikely.
You’re getting ripped-off. Go 230k and condescendingly laugh at anyone who dare offer you less.
Spit in their face, moonwalk away.
When I had 4.5 years I got 115 which was a bit high at the time. So in todays market, with 5 years experience 120 sounds like a good goal, 130 probably pushing it.
It highly depends on where you’re coming from. I have awards and was coming from an agency that had been #1 on the A List (not that I care but recruiters were throwing around our pedigree as they tried to hire more talent). You can ask for more when you’re “the team from (insert trendy shop)”
If you have lions in your book, go for it. Otherwise make realistic expectations. At your level, I would still be making my decision more on what work you would make rather than which agency is paying 10k more than another.
When you have some awards and go freelancing you’ll make 6-7k a week
Honestly I’m shocked with a lot of answers and how people have accepted to work with so many years of experience for such a low amount. I am in NYC and everything is SO expensive so I don’t even know how people could survive. I have 3 years of experience and make 95k. You should be asking for 120k for sure
You can ask for whatever you want, but it seems that’s what OP has been doing and no one is giving it to them, so they probably need to rethink their strategy.
That seems high for 5 years experience
I’m in that salary range with less than 5 years of experience. I wouldn’t say it’s the norm but it’s possible to get. How much lower are they offering?
Not a creative, but I have 3 years and already make $100k. I know another strategist with 2 years making $105k. Def don’t think you’re being unreasonable.
NYC
That seems way high. At 5 yeas in I was making ~85k at an agency (with an AD title).
$98,384 in today’s money by my calculations.
It might not be high for a senior title, but it seems very high for 5 years. Realize that a senior title could mean 5-10 years of experience depending on the agency and your salary is usually based on your years of experience, not title alone.
I have five years of experience and have over a dozen awards. I make $115k. So I don’t think you’re being gaslit.
That does seem very high.
Kind of suprised by these answers, honestly but thank you all for the insight. I guess rent and cost of living has gone way up in the city these days esp w inflation so I just thought I was justified in that range :/
Buddy! I recently got hired by a top agency. And I have 5 years experience with bunch of awards. I think your range could be $110 to $120 which I’ve been telling to ad agencies in NY and they all responded positively. (Actually, I always told them i want $120k in the beginning of interview with recruiters. And I recently picked one and I’m making 120k. So, go for $110 to $120. Maybe $130 sounds too high unless it’s in-house. Right now, nearly every top ad agencies actively hire. It’s definitely employee market now!
Pretty high. That’s senior/acd.
Ask for 95.
They pay mid-level ~that you know~ 65-70. Sounds like salaries can vary widely there, just saying it might be worth looking into.
It’s always good to be frank with others about comp, when we stay quiet they win. Sounds like there might be wide variation in salaries.
I feel like recruiters have been doing that across the board. They’re just tying to get people into interviews—I’ve been getting a lot of entry level offers and I have three years of experience
