Why do you think this? A lot of major health conditions are either not the person's fault or existed before they joined the company. They should not be penalized for their conditions, just like people with a clean bill of health aren't expected to pay less towards their health insurance coverage. That's the point of health insurance, the communal contributions take care of everyone.
The OP suggested that the EMPLOYER pay more, not the employee. So it would be a benefit, not a penalty. But others here have explained why this is not a good idea.

Agree and it would result in discrimination..define major health condition? And I think the plan costs are negotiated anyway to provide optimal benefit to employees,also disclosing one’s health condition will be a privacy violation ain’t it? Why should my employer know abt my condition
