Pet emergency came up and need to move my flight home from Friday to Thursday. Flying Delta. How can I change without incurring the $200 expense?

Sometimes Delta will waive the change fee if you have an emergency and tell the reservation manager. Also, saying you are a frequent traveler and plan to fly every week with them for a while helps (if you have the history to show it then it will work)

As things start to open up fully, some of my institutional clients are sending notices that we are expected to do X activity over zoom from here on out (things we used to do in person). Clearly it’s a cost cutting measure. Anyone else feel like filing for telephonic appearance so the insurance company can save a buck isn’t going to sit well with judges who prefer in person attendance? I hope they deny all of them so my billables don’t suffer. Less travel = more desk bs I have to do to hit quota

Has anyone ever Upgrades to premium class on a flight (on Alaska in this case) only to cancel for a flight credit? Basically I booked saver fare, need to cancel it but don’t want to eat the cost. It’s $100 to upgrade round trip and premium class can get a flight credit. Is this possible? Or will Alaska not let that happen?

Lyft driver delayed picking me up 30 min, resulting in me canceling my ride and asking hotel to call me a “yellow taxi” to get to the airport because it was 5am and all ubers/lyfts were 15 min. Specifically said yellow. Hotel calls me a private lux SUV and the driver got out of the car to handshake the man who called and said hi (honestly money couldve been passed). I then get hit with a $180 ride. Marriott website says taxi should be $65. Should I complain or let it go?
